Experimenting with the Condor batch system in HD-Tier3
Currently, Condor is the principal batch system in the HD-Tier3.
Here is an basic example showing how you can submit jobs using condor.
- make hello.C and put the running command into the example.csh executable.:
% setenv ROOTSYS /alisoft/ALICEsoftware/root/v5-11-06 or export ROOTSYS=/alisoft/ALICEsoftware/root/v5-11-06
% setenv PATH $PATH\:$ROOTSYS/bin or export PATH=$PATH\:$ROOTSYS/bin
% cat << EOF > hello.C
void hello(){
cout <<"hello";
}
EOF
% cat << EOF > example.csh
#!/bin/csh -f
root -b -q 'hello.C();'
EOF
% chmod +x example.csh
- make example.cmd and submit job using condor_submit.:
% cat << EOF > example.cmd
universe = vanilla

executable = example.csh
output = example.out
error = example.err
log = example.log
queue

% condor_submit example.cmd
- The status of your job you watch with command.:
